I am really excited to offer y'all this giveaway! I was contacted by Chef Jeff Pirtle author of dinnerRevolution to giveaway copies of his new cookbook to my readers. The best part about the cookbook is that the tagline on it is "Healthy Modern recipes made simply with 10 ingredients or less in under 30 minutes", that line alone instantly pulled me in.

10 ingredients or less means less money-yes please! This graduate wife can't afford to blow money and her husband is about sick of grilled chicken.

Under 30 minutes-I just may crawl out of my cooking rut. We all know I have been in one hence the lack of recipes lately. Needless to say after a long day at school I am not in the mood to hang over the stove all evening. Especially since Jeremy is gone to class until late-does not make for a desire to cook elaborately long recipes.

Mary Kay Review

Recently I was sent a few products to try from Mary Kay. I've always heard great things around the company and the products, but always assumed they were too expensive for me...so I never tried a single product. Let's just say what I was sent may have just changed my makeup life and opinion. Here is a little about the product I received from the company's website:

Here I am with no makeup-getting ready in the morning.

Now I have to show you a pic of this, I was totally impressed with the compact. Not only was the mineral makeup amazing, it went on so smooth and even, it came with a nice blush applicator, the standard eye applicator...but it included my hands down favorite type of bristle eye applicator. Half the reason I never have liked compacts is because the eye applicators suck. Let me just tell you this one did not suck at all!:) When we went out of town for the Jazz Marathon this weekend I was able to hide my wedding rings in the bottom section of the compact for safe keeping-total plus for safe travel and keeping-especially when we go to Italy next month

Now here is what surpassed all the love I already had for these products, this pic was taken around 5 after I had worked all day and had a faculty meeting to sit through. Makeup is still on. By the end of the day I usually look like I didn't put any on. Especially the blush, it disappears immediately on me-this literally lasted all day without me reapplying a single time.

Finally the kicker-the mascara did not flake off under my eyes. Almost every brand of mascara I have ever laid hands on has flaked on me. I even used waterproof for a bit-it flaked too.

Let's just say this $15 Mary Kay mascara changed my life! Ha, but seriously I love these products. A month ago I would have told you that I would never buy Mary Kay because of the $$$, but now after using the products I plan to buy and buy again.

I don't know about y'all but my Mom and I have shopped on Overstock for years. I just love the savings they offer and the cheap CHEAP shipping. Seriously, they offer $2.95 shipping regardless of the size of the order. I personally can't stand paying tons on shipping, especially when shipping costs more than the order itself, but that is not a problem at all with Overstock.

Guess what came in the mail today...

I just love getting mail...so long as it isn't bills. I was super excited to see our Shutterfly Christmas cards. I knew they'd be good, but they are awesome! I love how they look but I am not going to lie, I am super impressed with the quality of the paper the card was printed on. Absolutely amazing. We did Wal-Mart cards last year and they were okay, they were printed on photo paper. These are serious Christmas Cards, not like I could make at home. I am in love, I almost don't want to sent these pretty puppies out!

If you saw me post on Twitter you may be surprised there are no furbabies in the Christmas pic, well that is because it had been raining and we literally had 3 hours of sun that entire day. There was no way I was bathing and primping Miss Ellie only to let her run through the mud 10 minutes later. That out of the way the temperature dropped suddenly. I had planned for a short sleeve v-neck {pictured}, oh was I ever mistaken. Jeremy had seemingly appeared to agree to the photo op but later backed the heck out. This then took 1 1/2 hours to get him to agree to drive out to the Indian Village to take the pic.

All said and done I am super happy with out cards, even though I froze my tush off taking the picture. I am most certainly ordering Christmas cards through Shutterfly next year, I don't think I could stand to any less than their awesome quality next year if I was dead broke and having to give plasma to buy Christmas cards.

Shutterfly Holiday Cards

If you are anything like me you love getting holiday cards in the mail. There are a lot of things I don't like about the holidays, but picture cards have been my favorite for years. When we did our wedding album {with pics off our camera} we chose to do it through Shutterfly because they had such reasonable prices, and there stuff was super cute. Okay, maybe Jeremy didn't use the words super cute when the album came in the mail, but you get the point. So this year as I have started my, now yearly, begging of the "please take a Christmas pic so we can do picture cards" has begun I started looking at the Shutterfly site and noticed several cards I am considering to use, even though the only household members willing to take a Christmas picture are the furbabies. But that won't stop me, I already told Jeremy if the picture is only me and the dogs I will write at the bottom...not pictured: Jeremy-aka Scrooge {like in year books haha}.
